In The Loft is a scratch night run by theatre company, Five Pigeons Pecking a Bin Bag.
In The Loft was launched during lockdown on ye olde Zoom, when the creative juices were zapped from us and we wanted to create a (virtual) space for artists to start making work again. This will be our first ever In The Loft in the flesh!
We want to support artists to showcase their writing and try something new in a super supportive environment. This is a chance for these creatives to get some writing up on its feet and share work they are interested in developing further.
Historically, we have set themes for writers to respond to such as; Nostalgia, Myths and Generation. For this scratch night we’ve given the artists the option of submitting a piece to the suggested theme of ‘The Arts are Dying (Putting the Dead in Under Funde[a]d)’. Fun!
Come and join us for an evening of excellent new writing, it’s sure to be a hoot! Artist announcement to come soon.
We are Five Pigeons Pecking a Bin Bag - a theatre company that tells meaningful stories, meaninglessly. Our work asks the big, uncomfortable questions and explores the juicy, unsavoury bits of humanity. We create theatre that is bold, foul humoured and a little bit weird. Our previous work includes PISS AND BILE (The Space, Peckham Fringe, Clapham Fringe), squirrel (The Lion & Unicorn) and Hello, Box Office (Greenhouse Theatre). This is the debut in person In The Loft showcase and we hope to run many more in the future.
