Roly-Poly, a parable on human hypocrisy, is based on a famous short story by Guy de Maupassant - Boule dé Suif. It tells of a group of “respectable” women who take advantage of a prostitute’s services to secure their release from an inn where they are held by the Prussians, only to scorn her when she has done what they wanted.
