Gary

  • The Etcetera Theatre 265 Camden High Street London, England, NW1 7BU United Kingdom (map)

Things are going to change... Just not in the way UKIP candidate Gary Ward expects.

He wants your vote to make his little piece of London great again. However, after a protest gets out of hand outside a library hosting a drag queen story time, Gary wakes up in hospital. With no memory of who he was, how does he tell the world who he really wants to be... And how will the world around him react? What would Nigel do? What will Barb say, or Daz or... or....
Just how does this bigot cope when discovering she is now everything she once hated. Gary has a lot of thinking to do and a very short time to do it.

The London Intersectional Arts Collective is a group of LGBTQ+ actors, writers and creatives who share the experience of living with marginalised identities and want to create theatre that matters to them. Theatre about them, by them. They facilitate the monthly “Drama Queers” workshops which are hosted at the London LGBTQ+ Centre on the Southbank. These workshops aim to foster a community in which marginalised folks can come together in a free, safe, creative space free of judgement and heteronormativity!

Gary is their first theatre production... but by no means the last!

[Gary]“is surprisingly compelling. As a production it is by turns touching, goofy and sentimental.” LUVVIE WITH A ROLLABOARD 3.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ +1/2
